Your supervisor or observer needs to be someone who is able to observe you undertaking day-to-day food safety procedures which follow the responsibilities of a Food Safety Supervisor. This is usually someone within your workplace, but you may also employ the help of an external supervisor as long as they are available to be contacted if we need to verify your assessment.

For someone to fill in the supervisor checklist they will need to be able to observe you undertaking the roles and responsibilities of a Food Safety Supervisor. Your supervisor must have a minimum of 12 months of experience within the food industry and must currently be employed in a food related role.

Your supervisor needs to observe you completing tasks in the workplace that exhibit your food safety knowledge so that they can fill in a supervisor checklist. During the course, QMS Audits will ask you to provide the details of your nominated supervisor so we can send over a supervisor checklist. This outlines the tasks that need to be executed during this exercise and needs to be filled out and signed by your supervisor.
